What's a night at The Homestead in Glen Arbor like? Howzabout PERFECT!

First off, when my hubby and I  mentioned climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes, the kids (ages 4 and 6) said, "What are DUNES?" We have failed them miserably. Miserably.

So, off we went. Bonus, we were there on a fee-free weekend! Then we did the scenic drive. OMG, if you haven't done this, you've gotta do it and stop and the 2nd pullout for sure with the Lake Michigan overlook. It is amazing and even if you've lived here all your life like me, it still astonishes you. You feel so lucky to be here, and so guilty not to cherish the view more often!!

Next up, actually arriving at the Homestead. This place is a bonanza for kids. Not one but TWO pools. Both heated. Both with hot tubs. Both with chaises for Momma to lounge on while Dad gets all wet and icky.

Then, tennis lessons for Kendall, our 6 year old. PeeWee tennis - the coach was hilarious, offering the parents quite a show and building confidence in the kids.

And lunch and dinner at Cafe Manitou... overlooking Lake Michigan... under an umbrella, soft breeze, music, sliders for the kids, grilled salmon for me, chicken for the hubby... everyone happy. The view. The view. The view.

Then, the topper, literally, their new spa Amira. It's on the top of the world with a view to prove it. They only have a few treatment rooms because it's actually billed as an outdoor spa - meaning massages on the green grass or by the tinkling waterfall, wine and appetizers by the outdoor fireplace, mediation by the labyrinth. Hammock under the trees. But the kicker - a heated pool perched on a bluff over Lake Michigan.
